In 2017, we authored a grant to create a deployable modular urban garden prototype for the University of Michigan Bicentennial. The project is made up of modular gardening parts that can be organized in a shipping container and be set up in neighborhood lots, schools, or parking lots. The project allowed us to experiment in developing a new type of cold frame for growing vegetables outdoors during the Michigan winter. The cold frame pattern was made using a rhino-grasshopper script, then CNC routed at the Taubman College Fab Lab.
